Day 3 - Charleston Build Day

I really enjoyed writing in photo form yesterday. I feel that I was able to present a good amount of information in an organized way. And you guys get to visualize what I'm trying to convey in words. So here we go again!

Today the team geared up for our first build day, with Charleston Habitat for Humanity.
Today's task was to start AND finish the shingling on the roof. We totally rocked it and completed the project in about 4 hours.
Lunch was provided by Cabot Farm's Gratitude Grill, a co-op food truck that travels around giving back to other volunteers through cooking. We were served some seriously mouth-watering grilled cheeses.
Chrisana is the homeowner of the house we built on today. She is the mother of a 12 year old girl and is also currently pregnant with another girl. Her house should be finished and ready for move-in in August. Also pictured here is Erin, the person I've connected with most on the trip so far. We've already had our fair shares of laughs together so I can only imagine that spending the summer with her will be great.
After a presentation at MUSC on exercise and nutrition in relation to cross-country cycling, the team played a friendly game of Knock Out.
Our farewell dinner was at California Dreaming, a restaurant that I (as a South Carolina native) am familiar with but that no one else had been to. It has been fun knowing the inside scoop of some of the places we've been to.
The whole team was stoked about and amused by eating at California Dreaming tonight seeing as we are all setting out for California tomorrow chasing after the dream of completing a cross-country bike trip. A big thanks to Pastor Daniel and Trinity United Methodist Church for going above and beyond as a host and purchasing us a fantastic farewell dinner!
Tomorrow we have our tire dipping ceremony on the Atlantic coast and we officially head toward the West. My teammates and I are all very excited to get moving! Thanks for all your support! Stayed tuned!

The Catty Corner: I'm not certain if this comment was meant to be sexist but..."When I was playing soccer I always used to think that stretching was for women and for coaches."
