Day 14 - Roswell, GA to Rome, GA

Are you seeing that mileage? Today was our longest day by 17 miles!
The whole crew assembled for send off this morning at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
Today I got creative and made a peanut butter and Nutella pancake taco for first lunch. It was probably the best idea I've had yet.
Every Bike & Build route has a trailer that they get to paint. When we got our trailer it had last year's paint on it, so we started by painting the entire thing white. In doing so we covered up a memorial for Christina Genco, a route leader who was killed on the route in 2012. In a meeting about trailer design I was pretty adamant about wanting to put the memorial for her back on the trailer. Tonight I was watching TV when one of the painters came and asked if I would be okay with putting Harrison's name on the memorial too. I was moved that my team would want him to be included and I was honored to paint not just his name but also Christina's and Paige's, another Bike & Build leader who was hit and killed on route.
Every morning we have a route meeting to discuss the day ahead. Each rider was assigned a town or 2 to research before Bike & Build began and these town presentations are given at the ride meeting. Rome was one of my towns. Here is the information I gathered regarding this city:
